Saints midfielder Harrison Reed has joined Norwich on a season-long loan.
Reed has found playing time limited at Saints, but was handed a long-term contract in December.
At 22, Reed’s career needs to get going, and both the club and player hope a first loan move, and for an entire season, to Championship promotion hopefuls Norwich will do the trick.
Vice chairman of football Les Reed said: “Harry has developed steadily, coming through the Academy ranks to become part of our first-team squad.
“This is an ideal opportunity for him to take the next step in his progression, at a strong Championship club who have ambitions to be competing at the top end of the league.
“Both Harry and the club believe the experience he will gain with Norwich will help him improve even further. Throughout his loan we will be monitoring his performances and we will be in regular dialogue with the staff at Norwich. We look forward to welcoming him back at the end of the season."
