GEORGE Burley is preparing to step up Saints' pre-season preparations.
The manager has so far made vast substitutions at half-time in the friendlies against Eastleigh, Svarstad and Kvik Halden.
But he anticipates a much stronger test against Kevin Bond's League One Cherries at Dean Court tomorrow (3pm).
As a result, more players should get a longer taste of action - and that includes skipper Claus Lundevam.
The Norwegian made his first appearance since April as a late sub in the 4-1 win at Halden on Wednesday.
He can expect at least 45 minutes tomorrow against a Cherries side who are expected to give a debut to former Saints full-back Paul Telfer.
"It's nice to play a local team," said Burley. "Bournemouth are a good side and playing an English side is very different to playing foreign opposition.
"Both Claus and Kenwyne Jones got 20 minutes the other night and we will hopefully look to push them on.
"It's very important to play games in pre-season.
"What we have done so far is to give all the players 45 minutes, but now we need to start getting them out there a bit more and perhaps play more than 45 minutes".
