KENWYNE Jones believes he is on track to reach peak full-fitness in time for the opening day of the season.
Jones, who made his first pre-season appearance in the second Norway tour game against Kvik Halden as a 70th minute substitute, stepped up his recovery from a calf strain with a 45-minute run-out as a half-time sub against Bournemouth.
He marked it with the opening goal of Saints' 2-1 win.
And with four pre-season friendlies remaining, starting away at Conference Premier club Exeter City tomorrow, Jones feels he will be well up to speed by the time Crystal Palace come to St Mary's on August 11th for the 2007/08 opener.
