Saints completed their pre-season fixture list with a 1-0 win over Brentford at Griffin Park.
Second half substitute Marek Saganowski scored the only goal of the game four minutes after coming off the bench at half time to make it seven wins out of eight for George Burley's men in pre-season.
Youssef Safri made his debut and played the full 90 minutes in the centre of midfield while Kelvin Davis recovered quicker than first feared from a dislocated finger and was able to play the second half which has put him in contention for the Championship opener against Crystal Palace next Saturday.
