TEAM Solent goalkeeper Bradley Banda is celebrating his first call-up for the Gibraltar senior squad.
The 20-year-old Southampton Solent University student has flown back to ‘The Rock’ for Gibraltar’s international friendly against Latvia on Sunday (March 25, 4pm).
He is part of a 20-man squad selected for the game.
Banda, who has previously represented Gibraltar at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level, tweeted: “Honoured to be called up to the senior squad for the first time.”
Banda joined Team Solent in the summer of 2016 and his first season with the club coincided with James Taylor’s Students reaching the FA Vase fifth round proper.
Team Solent’s scheduled Sydenhams Premier Division fixture against Amesbury Town tonight has fallen foul of the icy weather. Their Test Park pitch is still covered in snow.
The Students were without a game on Saturday too with their trip to Baffins Milton Rovers postponed.
