Romsey returned to winning ways in Snows Group Hampshire 2 with a thumping win over a beleaguered Aldershot & Fleet side.
The home team took the lead with two early tries from league debutant Chris Street and another from scrum half Andy Herriot.
Aldershot rallied under the pressure to score one of their own through some bullying forward play and a dominant set piece performance. However Romsey stuck to their task, creating options for their free-flowing back line to set Sam Sleep for his first and Jim Windibank, who crossed the line for the second time in two games, for a 24-10 half-time lead.
Two tries each from Jake Fulford, Dan Penn Newman and William Farthing ensured a no contest in the second half as Romsey vented their disappointment at losing to leaders Farnborough the week before.
Farnborough trounced Southsea Nomads 46-5 while Fawley were beaten 8-0 at Alton.
Snows Group Hampshire 1 leaders US Portsmouth are two games away from going unbeaten all season.
The Services side’s latest victims were Millbrook who lost out 29-0 on their own Five Acres turf.
Bognor walloped Ventnor 76-0 to protect their second place while Fordingbridge RFC hammered Southsea Nomads to move into third spot.
