Andrew Surman believes the whole team must take responsibility for Saints' defensive problems.

The midfielder refused to point the finger of blame for the six goals conceded in the first two matches at the backline.

Instead he feels the side as a whole has defended poorly but they can turn it round.

He said: "It is something we have got to look at. Conceding two goals in quick succession at Peterborough killed us a little bit.

"It was the same against Palace. We got a goal back and suddenly they came out and scored their third and it set us back a little bit.

"We have got to look at it as a team. You don't want to blame individuals. We have got to group together as a team and put those mistakes right.
