BETTER news for Saints is that goalkeeper Kelvin Davis has returned to training after recovering from a virus.
The bug had ruled Saints' second-choice out of the squad for Monday's Carling Cup defeat to Peterborough, though the 31-year-old is now back in harness and in contention for a place in the squad for Saturday's Championship clash with Norwich at Carrow Road.
But Michael Poke is not expected to return to action for another month after undergoing a minor knee operation.
Meanwhile, Adam Hammill is also back in training after missing the cup game thanks to a foot injury and fellow midfielder Inigo Idiakez has recovered from hamstring troubles.
But the Spaniard remains short of match fitness after missing out on most of pre-season and is training with physios on an individual basis.
Keep up to date with Saints in the Daily Echo
