GABI Taylor lost in the quarter-finals of the Surbiton Trophy, but has a wildcard entry for a WTA international tournament in Nottingham next week.
The 20 year-old from Shirley stunned British number two Heather Watson in the first round of the Surbiton Trophy before reaching the last eight with victory over Hungary’s Fanny Stollar.
But after going a set up by winning a tie-break she lost 7-6, 4-6-1-6 in just over two hours to Switzerland’s Conny Perrin.
Taylor still earned $2,533 by reaching the last eight, is now looking forward to the Nature Valley Open in Nottingham, where the main draw action starts on Monday, after she and fellow GB starlet Katie Boulter received wildcards.
She said: “It’s brilliant to be part of such a strong field of players. I can’t wait to get started and play in front of the big crowds and it’s great to be part of a strong British contingent at the tournament.”
Women’s Tournament Director, Rebecca James, said: “It is fantastic to have these two bright young British prospects at the Nature Valley Open.
“The Nottingham crowd really gets behind all the players - and in particular the British players.
“I have no doubt Katie and Gabriella will receive fantastic support.”
The WTA International tournament runs alongside an ATP Challenger event until June 17. The field includes Johanna Konta, Heather Watson, reigning champion Donna Vekic and Indian Wells winner Naomi Osaka.
