SERENA Vincent gave dad Andrew the perfect Father’s Day gift.
The Gregg School shot put ace broke the all-time British under-17 record yet again – just 11 days after the last time.
Dad Andrew, who is also Serena’s coach along with Bronwin Carter at City or Portsmouth AC, watched on with pride as she smashed out 16.57 metres at the Under-17/Under-20 National Championships.
It was another reminder to the Great Britain selectors that the Bursledon athlete is pressing hard for selection for the European Under-18 Championships in Hungary next month (July 3-9).
“Hopefully this will be enough to earn her a place in the GB team flying out to Hungary on July 2,” said Andrew.
“We will wait and see.
“But either way, it was an exceptional throw.”
