CLAUS LUNDEKVAM today admits the Saints fans have a right to be frustrated after a turbulent time since the end of last season.

But the Saints skipper also believes the club need their faithful supporters more now than ever.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Echo today, the injured Lundekvam talks about how hard it's been to see Saints stutter at the start of this campaign from the sidelines, while revealing that his recovery is ahead of schedule.

But he also had this message for the fans: "It's important to stay with us at the moment.

"It's not going to help anyone if you don't, but saying that I totally understand your frustration.

"At the end of the day, even in losing the play-offs, you could see the excitement and we were all looking forward to a new great season at the top of the league and a lot of positives we had taken out of last season.

"Then a lot of stuff happened in the summer.

"Losing quite a few key players doesn't help, so I can understand their frustration.

"Not being able to release funds to buy players is frustrating for the manager as well I'm sure.

"Hopefully you will stay with us and help us turn the results around."
