George Burley will call on Saints' six-footers to try and combat Stoke City's aerial threat.

The Saints boss, whose team go in search of their first points of the season against the Potters at St Mary's tomorrow, is only too aware of what to expect from Tony Pulis' side.

Former Saint Rory Delap, still the club's £4m record signing, will be bombing in long throws and the uncompromising Stoke side will load up the area with their team of six footers for all set-pieces.

The Potters - who should also include ex-Saints Danny Higginbotham, right, and Ricardo Fuller - will also be strong and physical all over the pitch.

And, having won their first two league games in contrast to Saints' two defeats, will arrive on the south coast full of confidence.

Burley said: "We did a bit yesterday working on set-pieces and we'll do more today.

"I watched the DVD and long throws and corners (they) are very dangerous.

"They have five players all over six foot all come to attack the ball and we know Rory Delap throws it to the far post from anywhere and it's something we've got to cope with.

"I think we've got players here that can deal with that and hopefully that can be the case tomorrow.

"We've got enough big lads and we'll give them the responsibility from set-plays and hope they do it."
