WAYNE THOMAS has revealed the nerves will be jangling ahead of his Saints home debut at St Mary's today.
The experienced centre half confessed to nerves before making his first appearance following a £1m move from Burnley at Norwich last week.
He believes his emotions could be just as bad when he plays in front of his new home fans against former club Stoke this afternoon.
And he is also bracing himself for another barrage of boos from the fans who used to cheer him.
Thomas was brought in for his uncompromising strength and pace, but was not afraid to admit he gets nervous before any match.
He said: "I had a few butterflies last week doing interviews, let alone playing the game.
"The lads have made me feel very welcome and I'm loving it here.
"There's always going to be nerves in any game you play and if you don't have nerves then there's something wrong."
