SUNDERLAND boss Roy Keane has been given permission to speak to Kenwyne Jones.
He is also looking to sign Jones' former St Mary's colleague Danny Higginbotham prior to the transfer window slamming shut this Friday at midnight.
Higginbotham has bene linked with a £2.4m move to the Stadium of Light - thereby rejoining his former Old Trafford colleague Keane.
Higginbotham only joined Stoke last summer from Saints for a fee of around £300,000.
Keane said: "I've been saying for a while that we need to strengthen and we'll look to speak to them".
