George Burley said he'd never seen a side create so many chances away from home after Saints romped to a 3-0 win over QPR.

The Saints boss was delighted with the efforts of his team who made it back-to-back wins with a victory at Loftus Road which could easily have been by an even more convincing margin.

The day started on a sad note with the tributes to Ray Jones, the 19-year-old QPR striker who died the week before in a car crash.

But after the whistle went, Saints kept their heads on the job and sent their fans home happy.

Burley said: "When you keep creating chances you want to take your fair share. We got two in the first half and dominated and second half we were not under that much pressure.

"I've not seen a team create so many chances away from home which was encouraging.

"It was another excellent performance and that's three games we've played really well after a poor first game.

"We scored three goals away from home and it could have been double figures.

"Against Norwich in our last away game we were well in command and missed out.

"We played in the same manner here and if it wasn't for Lee Camp it could have been double figures.

"It was amazing to create so many clear cut chances away from home and I'm pleased with the first clean sheet of the season.

"That's four games played and the squad's taking shape".
