Grzegorz Rasiak is hoping to take his blistering start to the season at club level on to the international stage.

The Polish hitman scored two goals at QPR on Saturday to take his tally to the season to four.

He is now away with his country who face vital European Championship qualifying games with Portugal and Finland, the results of which could well make or break their chances of making the finals next summer.

Rasiak will probably start up front against Portugal at the weekend and is hoping his goalscoring form for Saints will replicate itself at international level.

He said: "I started 35 games last season and I scored 21 goals.

"I could have had another few and it was a good season apart from not playing the last few games.

"I try to give my 100 per cent every game and that's now five games and four goals, which is a good start.

"Poland are still top of the table and we have to stay there.

"We have to play Portugal and Finland away and they are big games for us.

"We need to win hopefully both of them".
