MATT LE Tissier admits he would not go near Twitter if he was still playing.
A day rarely goes by without the Saints legend tweeting, retweeting and interacting with his 519,000-plus followers.
But when asked if he would have been as active on the social media platform if it existed during his playing days, Le Tissier replied: “No chance! There’s no way I’d be on social media. Not a chance.
"There’s no reason for it whatsoever. There’s no benefit to any of the current players being on social media. I’ve no idea why they do it.
“Nothing positive comes from it, it just wears you down, beats you up and shatters your confidence.”
Le Tissier, who has had an account since 2011, added: “It’s good fun and I enjoy a good debate on there but you have to take it for what it is.
“As long as you’ve got a level-headed approach to it it’s quite a fun place.
“I’m fortunate to have quite a balanced outlook on life.
“If people say something nasty about me sometimes it tickles me and I enjoy having a little bit of fun back.”
