AMBULANCE crews rushed to the scene of a football match in Hythe after a player was knocked unconscious.
During a game between Wessex League Division One teams, Folland Sports FC and Hythe and Dibden FC, Folland player Mason Baptiste was knocked unconscious.
The game kicked off at 7.45 on January 21 at the Hythe Garage Services Stadium in Hythe.
Just before half time, the game was halted as the away team's number 11 received a head injury which knocked him out.
An ambulance was called to the Hythe Garage Services stadium in Hythe and Mason was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
According to the club's twitter account, he was given a "precautionary CT scan" at the hospital, before being given the all clear at around 4am on January 22.
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called out to the game at 20.27pm on January 21. One ambulance cre attended the scene, who arrived and treated a man in his 20's with a head injury before he was taken to Southampton General Hospital."
Folland Sports FC were losing 3-0 when the forward was taken to hospital, and the club went on to lose the Wessex League Division One fixture 5-1.
