SAINTS are closing in on making Kyle Walker-Peters their first signing of the window by bringing him in on loan until the end of the season.
The Tottenham defender has been linked with the club throughout January and will be able to provide cover for the injured Cedric and Yan Valery.
It’s understood by the Daily Echo that, although a deal has yet to be agreed, Saints are confident of getting it sorted in the coming days.
Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl previously said he’d like a player that’s confident playing on either side of the defence, with Walker-Peters fitting that bill.
The 22-year-old has struggled for minutes on the pitch this season, making just five appearances.
His last Tottenham outing came back in December when he featured in the 3-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
Crystal Palace were also believed to be keen on taking the defender on loan but Saints are set to win the race for his signature.
