SAINTS will consider whether to cash in on Cedric before the window shuts on Friday.
The right back, who is currently nursing a knee ligament injury, is out of contract in the summer and will become a free agent.
There have been initial reports suggesting Arsenal would be interested in bringing the 28-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.
It would make sense for the club to take a fee for the right back, as long as it was an acceptable one, instead of losing him for nothing.
Because of this, Saints are open to the idea of letting the Portuguese international leave before the January transfer window shuts.
There is a belief behind the scenes, especially with the imminent arrival of Kyle Walker-Peters, that it would make sense to at least consider cashing in on Cedric if the Gunners were to submit a bid for him.
Arsenal could be looking to move for him now so that they can pip other sides to the defender’s signature come the summer.
Cedric initially signed for Saints from Sporting Lisbon back in 2015 for £4m and has gone on to make over 130 appearances for the St Mary’s side.
