SAINTS boss Ralph Hasenhuttl believes Saints got what they deserved against Manchester United.
Stuart Armstrong had given the visitors the lead before Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial netted in quick succession to send the Old Trafford outfit ahead.
But Michael Obafemi bundled the ball home in the final seconds to deliver a point for Hasenhuttl.
The St Mary's chief said: “I think it was a really deserved point.
“We had a fantastic start and then 10 minutes where we lost the way we wanted to defend against this team.
“You can see how good they are, but it was good that we were able to fight back to the way we wanted to play.
“They are a really competitive opponent, and in the end, I saw more chances from our side in the second half.
“Reddy forced a fantastic save from [David] De Gea and we believe in what we are doing, and we deserve this point.”
Hasenhuttl also revealed his delight for Obafemi.
Saints' manager has often criticised the youngster but only had positive things to say about him in light of his Old Trafford heroics.
Obafemi's goal extended Saints' unbeaten run to four Premier League games without defeat.
Hasenhuttl added: “I’m happy for him because it’s not always easy for him.
“He came in and scored a fantastic goal. I’m very happy for him.”
