ASTON Villa are "eyeing up" a £10million bid for Saints striker Michael Obafemi, according to a report in The Sun.
It is claimed Villa have been "tracking" the 20-year-old, with newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion also linked with a bid.
Dublin-born Obafemi has made one senior appearance for Republic of Ireland and featured 25 times in all competitions under Ralph Hasenhuttl last season, mainly as a substitute.
The striker has scored five goals in his Saints career, including a dramatic last-gasp equaliser against Manchester United in July.
Saints also have Shane Long, Danny Ings and Che Adams as senior striker options.
