FRONTMAN Che Adams is eager to build on his impressive form for Saints – and the former Birmingham City star is hoping to find the net at Aston Villa.
Adams has scored twice in as many games for the St Mary’s side, with strikes coming against Chelsea and Everton.
The Leicester-born 24-year-old moved to Saints for a reported £15million from Birmingham City in July 2019 – the arch rivals of Sunday’s opposition.
And having only registered two assists against the Villans in eight games at club level, Adams admits he is hoping to strike at Villa Park.
Asked whether he was relishing the chance to score against Villa, Adams told the Daily Echo: “Yeah I hope so!
“We are in a good place right now and hopefully we can take the confidence into this week.”
“I have been there before, last season, and they (the fans) gave me a bit but it’s part and parcel of football.
“It’s a shame the fans aren’t here to see how well we are doing. But we have to build on now without them.”
