MANAGER Ralph Hasenhuttl explained his decision to let full-back Jake Vokins out on loan and admitted: “It is also right we are looking for a replacement.”
Youngster Vokins today agreed a deal to join League One outfit Sunderland until the end of the season, despite starting in Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.
Saints are set to have Ryan Bertrand back from suspension, to feature at left-back for tomorrow’s clash with Aston Villa at St Mary’s (8pm).
Hasenhuttl said: “Jake is going because I think at the moment it’s better for him to get a little bit more games to develop.
“What we saw in the last game was that he is missing the games and the challenges. I have no chance to give him these opportunities.”
He added: “It is also right we are looking for a replacement.
“There is nothing to say about it yet but we have a few names in our mind that we want to look at.”
Saints have until Monday (11pm) when the transfer window closes to bring in any fresh faces.
