RALPH Hasenhuttl could be boosted by the return of three key Saints players for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle United (3pm).
The manager revealed Oriol Romeu is back in training having missed Tuesday’s 9-0 thumping at the hands of Manchester United through injury.
Jannik Vestergaard and Kyle Walker-Peters could also be back from respective knee and quad problems.
There is a blow however, as Scotland star Stuart Armstrong is set to miss the clash due to a muscle injury.
Giving an update on his squad, Austrian boss Hasenhuttl said: “Oriol is training, we maybe have Jannik back available for the weekend.
“Kyle is maybe available. But there's no good news without bad news.
"Stu has a problem with his muscle, he'll be out for this weekend. The problems with injuries do not stop.”
