RALPH Hasenhuttl was left to rue another poor day in front of goal as Saints slipped to a 1-0 loss at Everton.
Saints have now collected just one point from their past nine matches, netting just one goal in their past three games combined.
Richarlison's early goal was enough to separate the sides at Goodison Park.
"We had not a lot but a few chances in the second half, but at the moment we don’t find the back of the net," said Hasenhuttl.
"I saw a team in the second half fighting to turn everything around but at the moment we are missing the final punch in the final third for the ball to go in. We had a lot of corners and set pieces but they defended well.
"It was tough to score and at the moment we are a little bit short of goals and this makes winning games difficult."
He added: "Our best chance was for Moussa I think when he was free in the box to score. Jannik also had a chance.
"We have at the moment definitely in front not always the best decisions in the final third. The final punch is not there in the one against one."
