SAINTS defender Wesley Hoedt will return to St Mary’s following his loan spell at Lazio, according to reports.
Corriere dello Sport claim the 27-year-old is “destined” to head back to his parent club after his season-long deal at the Serie A outfit expires – despite there being an option to buy.
Netherlands international Hoedt has played 24 times for Lazio in all competitions this season, starting nine games in the league.
He signed a five-year deal at St Mary’s having joined from the Italian club for £15million back in 2017.
Hoedt’s most recent outing for Saints came in a 3-2 defeat at Fulham in November 2018.
He has made 45 appearances for Saints, scoring one goal.
