TOTTENHAM Hotspur are "considering a move" for Saints star Jannik Vestergaard, according to a report in the Mirror.

Vestergaard has played a key role for Saints this season, scoring three goals in 21 appearances.

The Dane has been linked with a move away from the south coast in the past, but has become a regular starter under Ralph Hasenhuttl this term.

Vestergaard, 28, joined Saints for £18million from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in 2018.

It is understood his current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2022.

And the Mirror claim the centre-back "features high up" on Jose Mourinho's list of summer transfer targets at Spurs.

Saints were due to face Mourinho's side at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, but that game has been postponed to make way for Hasenhuttl's charges heading to Bournemouth in the FA Cup.
