MANCHESTER City are interested in signing Saints striker Danny Ings this summer, according to Sky Sports.
The England international is still yet to sign a new deal at St Mary’s, with his current contract running out in the summer of 2022.
And Sky claim City are interested in the former Liverpool man, as a potential successor to Sergio Aguero.
According to the report, City have looked at the likes of Erling Haaland to boost their striking options but see Ings as a more “attainable option”.
Ings joined Saints from Liverpool, initially on loan, in 2018 and showed his true potential last season, bagging 22 times in the Premier League, just one fewer than golden boot winner Jamie Vardy.
He has netted 10 times in 27 appearances for club and country this campaign.
Ings is set to return to action after the international break, having sustained a muscle problem in Saints’ victory over Sheffield United earlier this month.
