RALPH Hasenhuttl was left delighted with Saints' performance against Leicester as they ground out a point.
Despite going down to 10 men inside 10 minutes when Jannik Vestergaard was controversially sent off, Saints took the lead through a James Ward-Prowse penalty.
Jonny Evans then equalised for Brendan Rodgers's Foxes as the game ended 1-1.
Asked if he was delighted with the result given the circumstances, Hasenhuttl said: "Absolutely. I mean, I’m not delighted with the red card decision, but delighted with the performance from my fighting side.
"It is for us an important signal that we can defend better than we did in the past when we were one man down and that we have a good start in the final six games, especially also the first 10 minutes.
"We had a big chance for Nathan Tella. It was a brave performance, also with the ball we had some good movements, even if we were one man down we tried to play forwards, we tried to play forward, we tried to score and I think this is how we have to work for this team."
