JAN Bednarek may miss out on a Saints match for the first time this season when Fulham visit St Mary's on Saturday.
The Poland international is currently struggling with an ankle injury.
Bednarek has featured in all 41 of Saints' matches in league and cup this season, starting on every occasion.
However, the 25-year-old was withdrawn at half-time of Tuesday's victory over Crystal Palace, replaced by Mohammed Salisu.
And he could now miss this weekend's clash with Scott Parker's Cottagers.
"Jan Bednarek has a little bit of a problem with his ankle," explained Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.
"In the last game he got a hit on his heel I think and didn’t train today (Thursday) or yesterday (Wednesday).
"He is the only guy who has a little bit of problems from the last game."
Meanwhile, Saints are still set to be without two more key players to face already-relegated Fulham.
"Ryan Bertrand and Oriol Romeu are still out and the long-term injuries also as well," confirmed Hasenhuttl.
