JANNIK Vestergaard’s time at Saints could be set to end after the club accepted a £15million bid from Leicester for the Denmark international.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract at St Mary’s and the Daily Echo understands a fee has now been agreed by the clubs to take him to King Power Stadium.
Vestergaard signed for Saints from Borussia Monchengladbach back in July 2018 for a reported fee of £18million.
He has since gone on to play 79 times for the south coast side in all competitions, scoring four goals.
The Denmark star was integral part of his country’s journey to the semi-finals at Euro 2020 and had returned to train with Saints this month.
He was present to watch from the stands as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side were beaten 3-1 in a pre-season friendly by Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
But the Hvidovre-born star’s time at the club could be set to end after a bid from Brendan Rodgers’s side was accepted.
Leicester have been stricken with injuries in defence after Wesley Fofana was stretchered off in a pre-season friendly last week.
