IT WAS no surprise that Saints fans reacted with joy and relief at the capture of prolific Blackburn Rovers forward Adam Armstrong – but they weren’t the only ones reacting over social media.
The 24-year-old has clearly cut himself a popular figure in the footballing world, with loads of former teammates and even opposition congratulating him on his step up.
Moving from the Championship to the Premier League is a big jump and one that many players will never achieve.
With a second-highest total of 28 goals in the second division last season, it’s well deserved. Here’s how the footballing world responded to his move online.
Good luck @AdamArma9 at a brilliant football club. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 https://t.co/CFsS7uxEBX

Absolutely buzzing to see @AdamArma9 back in the Premier League. #SaintsFC have got themselves a cracking player there. I've watched him since he bossed it for England U16s as a 14 year old. Was always destined for the very top. Good luck buddy 👏🏼🙌🏼👊🏼
