SOUTHAMPTON Football Club has said it will give fans a full refund after issues with match tickets and entry to the stadium.

The club said it is working on a “full investigation” into the issues which have caused problems for fans this weekend and said it was sorry for problems that had occurred.

In a statement posted on social media at 2.50pm on Sunday, Southampton FC said: “The club would like to apologise for the frustration caused by issues regarding match tickets and entry to the stadium today and is already working on a full investigation into these issues.

“We will be issuing a full refund for this game to every general admission ticket holder. Details of this process will be shared early next week.

It added: “Once again the club is extremely sorry for any inconvenience.”

This afternoon fans faced long delays getting into the stadium for the match against Manchester United due to a "technical issue" relating to the turnstiles.

The club said: “We would like to apologise to fans attempting to gain entry to the stadium, and thank them for their patience.

“The club is dealing with a technical issue with its turnstiles and is aiming to resolve this as soon as possible.”

On Saturday, fans had to queue to collect their tickets for several hours as they had not received their season tickets in the post.
