SAINTS’ Scottish duo Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong have received call-ups to the international squad for the upcoming break.

Manager Steve Clarke named the pair for their September fixtures against Denmark, Moldova and Austria – with the Moldova tie being played at home.

Both represented the Tartan Army during this summer’s 2020 European Championships, although they were knocked out in the group stage after picking up just one point.

Armstrong, who has made 28 appearances for Scotland, missed Saints’ recent Manchester United contest after picking up a calf injury but the ailment is thought to be minor.

Striker Adams has had a good start to the Premier League season though, after he assisted Adam Armstrong’s opener at Everton and it was then his strike that deflected in off Fred against the Red Devils.

He only made his international debut back in March 2021, after the Leicester-born forward switched allegiances.

Scotland kick off their camp’s games with a trip to Copenhagen to face Denmark on Wednesday September 1, at 7:45pm.
