AN ANALYSIS from livefootballtickets has discovered that St Mary’s is the fourth best stadium in Europe according to TripAdvisor reviews.
They created an index taking into consideration four factors: atmosphere, cleanliness, affordability, and food, to work out which football arenas were offering visitors the most satisfaction.
The study involved content analysis of over 100,000 TripAdvisor reviews for 28 different stadiums, and found that only three ranked higher than the home of Saints.
The fans are most satisfied with is Villa Park, with a satisfaction score of 8.88 points out of 10, while St Mary’s (8.19/10) also ranked below Leicester City’s King Power Stadium (8.79/10) and Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium (also 8.19/10).
Football fans are least satisfied with RheinEnergieStadion in Germany (0.77 points), which also scored the worst for cleanliness and affordability (0.34 points each).
St James’ Park, where Saints visit next in the Premier League on Saturday August 28, ranked fifth but with the same score as St Mary’s.
