JAMES Ward-Prowse has missed out on selection for the latest England squad.

The Saints skipper was part of Gareth Southgate's provisional Euro 2020 squad, before being one of the unfortunate few to be cut from the final 26-man group.

And he has again missed out from a party of 25 selected for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

England are set to face Hungary, Andorra and Poland next month.

Six midfielders have been chosen, including Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips.

Ward-Prowse has eight senior England caps, netting his first goal for his country in a win over San Marino at Wembley in March of this year.

Earlier today, Saints striker Shane Long was called up by Republic of Ireland for their qualifiers.

England squad: Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Coady, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Patrick Bamford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling.
