TINO Livramento has received his first call-up into the England under-21 squad after a blistering start to the season with Saints.

The 18-year-old has previously represented his country from under-15s through to under-19s level.

But the Croydon-born right-back has now taken the next step, selected as part of a 24-man group by new boss Lee Carsley.

Livramento arrived from Chelsea this summer for a fee which could reach around £5million.

And he quickly usurped Kyle Walker-Peters to start the club's first two Premier League games of the campaign.

His fine early form has been rewarded, with a host more players also receiving their maiden call-ups for the new cycle of Euro 2023 qualifiers.

Liverpool forward Harvey Elliott, along with James Garner, Cole Palmer, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Jacob Ramsey, Tommy Doyle, Luke Thomas, Folarin Balogun and Charlie Cresswell are in the squad.

St Etienne goalkeeper Etienne Green – who was in France’s Euro 2021 squad for the knock-out stages – is included for the first time.

The Young Lions went out in the group stage at Euro 2021 in March with former manager Aidy Boothroyd leaving a month later.

They face Romania in Bucharest in a friendly next Friday before opening their Euro 2023 qualifying campaign against Kosovo in Milton Keynes on September 7.
