SAINTS full-back Yan Valery is set to remain at St Mary’s this summer, according to The Athletic.

The 22-year-old had been linked with a loan move to Olympiakos, with a number of reports circulating on social media last night.

But it now seems as if the Saints academy graduate will remain with the club to provide competition for the likes of Tino Livramento and Kyle Walker-Peters at right-back.

Valery has been an unused substitute in all of Saints’ Premier League games this season.

He did however play 90 minutes in the St Mary’s side’s 8-0 Carabao Cup second round win over Newport County last week.

Speaking about Valery ahead of that game, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl told the Daily Echo: “I must say he did a good job in pre-season. He’s fit, he’s a physically strong guy.

“He deserves to get chances and minutes.”

Valery spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship Birmingham City, but only featured seven times for the Blues including two starts.
