SAINTS have confirmed that their trip to Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane for the Carabao Cup round three will take place on Tuesday 21 September at 7:45pm.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side were drawn a second consecutive road trip after they defeated League Two Newport County at Rodney Parade 8-0 in the previous round.
Now they will look to get the better of a Championship outfit, and have been drawn a long journey in the first nationalised round of the 2021-22 competition.
The Blades have defeated Carlisle United and Derby County on their way to the third round, but are yet to win during the Championship campaign after Premier League relegation last season.
With the trip being sandwiched by the visit to the Etihad and visit from Wolves either weekend, it’s likely that Hasenhuttl again could opt to send a rotated side out.
