SAINTS striker Shane Long has returned a positive COVID-19 test.
The 34-year-old is currently away on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
But he has been ruled out of tonight's World Cup qualifier in Portugal due to coronavirus.
The Football Association of Ireland confirmed via Twitter: "Shane Long has tested positive for COVID-19.
"The player has been isolated from the group as per COVID-19 protocols ahead of tonight's qualifier against Portugal."
Long returned to Saints this summer following a loan spell as neighbours Bournemouth.
After featuring regularly during pre-season, the forward has been restricted to one substitute appearance so far - coming on during the 8-0 win over Newport County in the Carabao Cup last week.
Ireland are due to host Azerbaijan on Saturday, before welcoming Serbia on Tuesday, with Long looking likely to miss both fixtures.
Saints are next in action in 10 days' time, when West Ham United come to St Mary's.
