FORMER Saints coach Rahdi Jaidi is celebrating winning his career-first management title with a Tunisian Super League victory.
The 46-year-old ex-Saints under-23 manager is in charge of Esperance de Tunis after spells in America and Belgium.
He joined as head coach in August and has now been crowned league winners with the side from his former playing days.
On Twitter, he posted the message: “Congratulations on our coronation with the Tunisian Super Title, my first as coach.
“I thank all the players for their discipline and high spirit as well as the technical framework and officials, led by Mr. Hamdi, who is polite for his continued support.
“Thank you to our loyal fans for standing with us. The work continues...”
Jaidi played over 100 times for his country, Tunisia, before making 475 league appearances with Esperance, Bolton, Birmingham and Saints.
After ending his professional playing career in 2012 at Saints, Jaidi eventually became the under-23s manager and remained in that position until 2019, when he moved to the USA to manage Hartford Athletic.
The Saints under-23s, now the B team under David Horseman, are yet to put a first win of the 2021-22 season on the board and are bottom of their Premier League 2 Division Two table.
