WITH another international break among us following the conclusion of the weekend’s Premier League action, Saints now have a number of stars away on national duty.
We have seen a most surprising inclusion of Stuart Armstrong in the Scotland squad, despite his calf injury laying him off for Saints since the second match of the 2021-22 season.
He goes along with Che Adams, while Jan Bednarek and Armando Broja will compete in the same group of World Cup qualifying as England – with both still in with a shout of making the play-offs and reaching Qatar.
That said World Cup qualifying is reaching advanced stages though, in Europe and African qualifying, with players hoping that they’ll be on the flight for the winter 2022 tournament.
