SAINTS’ Moi Elyounoussi hit both goals during Norway’s 2-0 win at home to Montenegro to keep them in the driving seat for a World Cup playoff place.
After missing a golden headed opportunity to win the game vs third-place Turkey on Friday, Elyounoussi stepped up in Erling Haaland’s continued injury-provoked absence to seal a crucial three points for his country.
Firstly heading home from close range to grab the opener in the first-half, Elyounoussi then struck from outside the area in the last minute of additional time to wrap it all up.
The strikes add to his international goal scored against Latvia back in September – and bring his international total to nine in 37 caps.
With two games remaining, Norway are two points behind group leaders Netherlands and two ahead of Turkey – travelling to Amsterdam on the final day in what could be a winner-takes-all pass to Qatar 2022.
Meanwhile, Tino Livramento made his first start for England’s under-21 side as Lee Carsley’s outfit sneaked a narrow 1-0 win over Andorra – thanks to a solitary Emile Smith Rowe goal.
Their task was made harder after Young Lions striker Rhian Brewster was given a harsh red card early in the second half.
