CHE Adams hit a cool finish past Denmark’s Kasper Schmeichel from a Stuart Armstrong assist to secure a home playoff contest and deliver the Dane’s first loss of the tournament with a 2-0 victory.
Kasper Hjulmand’s outfit had won every game of qualifying up until the visit to Hampden Park, where an inspired Tartan Army needed a result to land the seeded home draw.
Centre-half John Souttar headed home to give Scotland the lead in the first-half, before Saints’ Armstrong was substituted on in the second period.
As Scotland countered, he fed a clever ball in behind the Danish defence to see teammate Adams charge at goal and produce an expert curling finish around the keeper and into the bottom right corner.

The result means Scotland have been victorious in six consecutive matches, dating back to the start of September when they last lost at the hands of Denmark in Copenhagen.
Adams scored in both games during this international break, also scoring against Moldova in a 2-0 win last week.
Meanwhile, Jan Bednarek started for Poland as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat to Hungary in their final World Cup qualifying game, having already secured a playoff spot.
The World Cup playoff draw for the European nations takes place in Zurich, Switzerland, on Friday, November 26 at 4PM.
Taking place in 2022, playoff teams will have to win two single-leg knockout rounds to secure passage to Qatar 2022, with three separate pathways allowing three teams to qualify.
