SAINTS Women continued their 100 per cent record in the 2021-22 season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Crawley Wasps at Snows Stadium.

Ella Pusey’s brace added to another Lucia Kendall strike to secure all three points, while the defence again held firm to limit the goals conceded this campaign to just one.

It was an important evening under the lights with the crunch clash against league-leaders Ipswich Town to come on Sunday.

Saints made a few changes to the side for the game, the likes of Laura Rafferty and Kayla Rendell returning to the starting XI whilst new signing Katie Rood and keeper Sara Luce dropped to the bench.

And they were held back for the first 45 minutes by the visitors, before the floodgates opened when Rafferty played through to Kendall to chip home moments into the second period.

It was two just nine minutes later. Another ball from deep this time latched onto by Pusey who found the bottom corner one-on-one.

Pusey then doubled her tally and wrapped up the affair with 25 minutes to play, checking back on her run and firing past Megan Lynch in net.

Wasps hit the crossbar twice in the final stages while pressing to reduce the deficit, but Rendell was able to breathe an eventual sigh of relief.

The result means Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side have won each of their first eight successive fixtures in the league, amassing a goal difference of 42.

Ipswich are top by virtue of having played two more, also winning them all. They visit Snows Stadium on Sunday, November 21.
