SAINTS Women have been drawn to play former Women’s Super League side Bristol City at home in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, January 30, after defeating local rivals Portsmouth to progress.
The Robins now compete in the Championship following relegation from the top-flight last season, sitting fifth in the division with five wins from the first 10 games of the season.
Lauren Smith’s City outfit will travel to Southampton following their 5-0 win over fellow Championship Lewes Women in the third round.
For Saints, Caitlin Morris scored the winning goal during extra-time to sink Pompey 2-1 after Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s team had gone behind in the first-half of regulation minutes.
Saints are looking to target promotion from the National League as their number one priority this season, but have the resources to compete on all fronts.
Meanwhile, Southampton Women’s FC have been drawn to face National League West Brom in the fourth round, should they progress past Exeter City in their third round tie which takes place on Sunday, December 19.
