RALPH Hasenhuttl praised his “dominant” side after the 3-2 win at West Ham and insists he felt the responsibility of “entertaining the world” as eyes turned to the Premier League for a Boxing Day feast.

Saints let their lead slip twice after the half-time break at London Stadium, following Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma goals, and it looked as though they could be in for another second period of disappointment.

Hasenhuttl’s side had already let leads slip in three of the last four – but Jan Bednarek added to Moi Elyounoussi and James Ward-Prowse’s notches with a top header to make it an entertaining afternoon with a happy ending for the St Mary’s outfit.

In total, 22 goals were served up by Premier League sides across four 3PMs, helped by Manchester City and Leicester adding a sizeable nine in their 6-3 clash at Etihad Stadium.

"We have to entertain the whole world on Boxing Day and I think the Premier League did that today, we saw a lot of goals,” Hasenhuttl said, speaking after the match.

"It was a very good start from our side. We were unbelievable. We were so dominant and then scored a fantastic goal.

"It was very calm in this ground - but then we stopped doing the same for the last 75 minutes.

"I will say, for every threat they put to us on the pitch we had an answer. This helped massively to take the three points.

"We're always talking about how we drop points, which happens but only because we so often take the lead. Today we won, sometimes we lose it.”
