CHE Adams is back available again for Saints after his recent absence due to a positive COVID-19 test.

The striker missed matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City due to the virus.

But the 25-year-old is now all clear and ready to return for tomorrow night's visit of Brentford to St Mary's Stadium (7.45pm).

Saints are also set to welcome Mohammed Salisu back into the squad after he served a one-match ban for the FA Cup win at Swansea at the weekend.

However, a host of players are still missing for the clash with Thomas Frank's Bees.

Kyle Walker-Peters and Yan Valery are both set to serve one-match suspensions, while Tino Livramento is not available as he continues to battle back from a knee injury.

"Che Adams is available for selection and no new (COVID) cases so far," confirmed boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

"Hopefully it stays like this.

"Sali is back after his suspension. This is the good thing.

"The rest is as we have. We had a very tough game on Saturday, with 120 minutes and I think nearly 90 minutes with one man down.

"It cost energy, definitely. But we will find a squad that is able to compete on Tuesday night. In front of our crowd we will get the extra energy we need I think."

Asked how much the extra-time victory at Swansea has taken out of his squad ahead of tomorrow night, Hasenhuttl added: "Instead of a better training session on Saturday preparing for the game on Tuesday, we had a tough cup fight, which we didn’t want to have.

"But it is how it is. We cannot deny that it is a factor on preparation for this game, but I’m sure that until tomorrow evening, we are ready to go again for 90 minutes.

"We are known for our intensive way of playing football and we will not change it for any reason."
