EDDIE Howe puts Newcastle fears of a Ryan Fraser absence to bed ahead of their Saints trip, confirming: “We’ve got no injuries of major concern.”

The Toon boss had hoped that winger Fraser would be okay, after he substituted him during their 2-1 win over Brighton last weekend.

However, he also confirmed that Frenchman Allan Saint-Maximin "may not be 100 per cent fit", despite returning as a substitute in that match.

Scottish international Fraser scored and assisted to extend the Magpies’ unbeaten run to seven in the Premier League.

Fraser, 28, also played under Howe with AFC Bournemouth and is familiar with his demands and styles.

“We’ve got no injuries of major concern,” Howe confirmed ahead of the trip to St Mary’s.

“We had a few niggles after the Brighton game but we’ve had Matt Ritchie return to training so that’s a really good thing.”

January transfer and England international Kieran Trippier will remain out on the sidelines after his injury, as will star striker Callum Wilson.

Jamal Lewis (not registered) and Isaac Hayden have also missed out of late with long-term concerns and are not set to make a return for this Premier League clash.
